November 17th 2010

Tony Bosworth visited to talk and display material associated with the 1936 Olympics which were held in Germany.



June 16th 2010-China; War with Japan 1937-1945

David Sibley gave a dazzling display of Chinese material from this small but important period in the History of China.
The Japanese invaded China from the North to the South in 1937 and David had samples of mail from his collection to cover this era, Mail to and from China had to take many long routes especially after 1939 , so as to avoid enemy territory,
David also displayed stamps of the period which included many overprints and stamps printed in Hong Kong and America.


May 19th 2010

The annual inter-club quiz took place at Leighton Buzzard and the home team came third. Winners again were Bedford followed by Luton with Milton Keynes fourth.


March 17th 2010

Gerald Lovelll was the March speaker in time for the new F.1 season with a display about Silverstone with covers postmarks stamps and signatures of well known pesonalities who have raced and been involved with this circuit. Gerald has to date raised much money for good causes from his signed covers and has spent considerable time at events to further his cause.


February 17th 2010

There was a poor turnout for the annual Competition compared with other years, Winners were- 16 Sheet Thematic Alan Crozier, German Post 9 Sheet Thematic Richard Page, The Barn Owl 9 Sheet one country Rory Morrissey Thailand Six Best Sheets Rory Morrissey Under the sea


January 20th 2010

Four members of the Aylesbury Philatelic Society gave displays starting with Victorian philately from the Gold coast Courtesy of John Powell, Cyril Parsons showed 50 years of British post marks while Graham Aylett gave a display of Denmark's first stamp, To end the evening Michael Pitt-Payne showed examples of the post between France and the U.K. with emphasis on the complex postage rates.
